PASAY CITY, Philippines – A pair of “Williams” climbed atop the leaderboard as only 30 players remain to battle for a slice of the PhP17,169,000 (US$302,908) prize pool in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) 2022 Philippines Championships Event as day 2 came to a close at the Grand Wing Casino, Newport World Resorts here.
Action resumes tomorrow (November 26) at precisely 1:00PM (UCT+8) with a Livestream starting 1:30PM on the APT YouTube and Twitch channels.
Malaysia’s William Teoh, who was the runner up in this same event in the last previous staging here, amassed 1,359,000 while William Fasano of England, who made it to the Final 8 of the Super High-Rollers here last September, came in a close second with 1,220,000.
So dominant was the run for the duo that Filipino Bell Perez is the distant third placer with 903,000 in chips.
The surviving combatants now contest a spot for being ITM and with six eliminations from being part of the guaranteed payout, it will be a dogfight at at the onset of tomorrow’s resumption.
24 places will get paid with the minimum cash at PhP146,400 (US$2,581). The winner of this event gets PhP4,196,300 (US$73,969).
Defending champion Dave “Spade” Erquiaga is still in the battle at 28th place with exactly 100,000.
